The Choice: Weighted Letters by Audrey Burke-Moore

Two amazing stories! The first one is about a young man named Keith and his good friend Cheryl. Keith is 12 when the story starts and the author takes us in a journey where we can experience his strong emotions for Cheryl. Keith constantly tries to declare his love to Cheryl, but he doesn’t allow himself to do so. We get to know that he is sick and that he doesn’t want to saddle Cheryl with the burden of his sickness. He knows that he will eventually die and he doesn’t want to hurt her. From the moment that they have met, they promised each other to write a letter to each other, stating their real feelings. I am not going to spoil it, you need to read it for yourself, but I can say, the story keeps you in suspense!

The second story is about a man named Austyn and his girlfriend Kayla. The story begins with them meeting each other and the story gradually shows the progress of their relationship. At some point something terrific happens and Austyn feels guilty about it. Austyn tries to forget his mistake by being silent about the mistake he made, but he is constantly reminded of his mistake due to several letters that he receives from an unknown sender. He is constantly searching for the courage to make up for his mistake.

What I really like about the writing style of Audrey, is that she leaves the reader in suspense and that she clearly describes the relationship of every character. You are able to immediately understand who is who and what everyone is feeling towards each other. Also, I thought that it was very original to write a romance story with time gaps of years in between. I would recommend this story to everyone who loves to read a good romance story. It was very hard for me to put the book away at some points in the story. Thank you for these amazing stories!
